CAREER DEVELOPMENT
The people who come to work for us are like family. For that reason, we like to help them advance and grow. Their success truly is our success. To help achieve these goals, we’ve implemented several policies and programs that contribute to our employees’ continuing career development.
Promote From Within: Helping our staff move up the career ladder is one of our goals. The moment new positions become available, we present them to VNA employees before we advertise externally. After six months of employment, all employees are eligible to bid on open positions through our Human Resources Department.
Continuing Education: Not only do we encourage continuing education, we help make obtaining credits easier. After six months of employment, employees receive a stipend of paid time off hours and reimbursement. This can be used for continuing education at institutes, seminars or in other appropriate programs that benefit the VNA and our employees’ professional development.
Tuition Reimbursement: To help further our employees with college-level education, we offer tuition reimbursement. After their one year anniversary, employees become eligible to have a percentage of their tuition reimbursed. Coursework must be directly related to the responsibilities of the employee’s current position or to future service within the VNA.
Staff Development: As part of our staff, you are VNA’s most valuable asset. To help keep your training at its peak, we provide 12 hours of clinical education as well as non-clinical training programs to support work practices. We also provide manager training sessions for issues related to individual or supervisory development.
Personal Care Assistants Career Ladder: With experience comes increased responsibility, and employees have the opportunity to be promoted to a supervisory Team Leader role. Experienced STNAs may participate on Special Teams which deliver quality services to higher skilled cases.
Onboarding: When you join the VNA family, we take the time to provide you with an extensive orientation program. This incorporates employee integration, alignment, engagement and retention activities, leading to a greater understanding of your responsibilities and a smoother transition to part of the team.
